BLAS joins POLSAF

Blackpool & Layton Angling Society have joined the Port Of Liverpool Sea Angling Federation ( POLSAF )

BLAS members can now fish the Alexander and Seaforth Dock Walls in Liverpool Docks and any other Dock walls which subsequently become available for POLSAF members.

Any BLAS member wishing to fish the Liverpool Dock walls will need a POLSAF permit, purchasable through BLAS for an annual fee ( currently £ 5 ). As the Port Of Liverpool Docks are a high security area, BLAS members who pay for this permit will need to get a photo ID card and a permit for their vehicle ( after showing registration documents and having a photo taken at the Docks ). Then BLAS will handle the annual re-registrations after your photo and car are registered with the docks.

Puddlehouse Ponds are no longer with BLAS

Puddlehouse Ponds

These Ponds have now been taken off BLAS.

Despite us paying annually, on time, for them, the farmer has decided to sell the fishing rights for twice the price to another angling club.

To be honest, we wouldn't have paid double for them if he had the decency to ask us in the first place.

Please don't fish these ponds anymore.

BLAS Meeting and Updates

Hi, We had a meeting at The Cliffs on Monday 21st.

Only 10 members turned up, despite the current membership standing at over 270 ( and rising ).

With this in mind, it was decided to limit meetings to the AGM and the Xmas Presentations and not hold the meetings in the summer ( Season ) months as parking and logistics at The Cliffs can be a problem.

If any members do have anything they need to bring up, then we will call extraordinary meetings as necessary.

The Committee meetings will continue throughout the year and will also deal with any matters arising, just write to the Secretary or speak to any member of the Committee.

UPDATES IN JUNE ---- May be a bit sporadic, due to a fishing trip to Ireland (see picture of cottage before 5 sea anglers descend upon it !! ) and other bits of holiday that I am taking in June.

Cheers

John.
